Christina Keny, PhD, MHA, RN, CPHQ, CMBBLSS, is Vice President of Clinical AI at Rainfall Health, where she helps shape the strategic roadmap for the responsible integration and scaling of AI across healthcare systems. Her work focuses on advancing value-based care, patient outcomes, care coordination, clinical quality, and administrative efficiency, including for organizations participating in CMS Medicare models such as TEAM and CJR.

A recognized expert in healthcare quality and patient safety and an accomplished research scientist in geriatric surgery and digital health interventions, Christina brings more than 17 years of experience spanning clinical operations, executive leadership, quality improvement, risk management, health outcomes research, regulatory readiness, and consulting. She has led complex, system-wide transformation initiatives across more than 40 hospitals in six regions, hundreds of clinics, and health systems serving millions of patients. Her work has delivered measurable improvements in length of stay, opioid utilization, and readmission rates.

Key initiatives have included Enhanced Recovery After Surgery, Age-Friendly Care, Hospital at Home, same-day total joint replacement, Epic implementation, virtual hospital care teams, Medicare quality programs, and the integration of digital health and AI into frontline clinical workflows. She has authored more than 20 peer-reviewed publications, including research published in Annals of Surgery.

Previously, Christina served as the inaugural Lead Clinical Research Scientist for Longevity and AgeTech at Samsung Research America and was the first nurse within Samsung's global Digital Health ecosystem. She advanced research, product strategy, and major partnerships across AI, connected health, mobile health, wearables, healthy longevity, and the experiences of older adults and caregivers. Working across multidisciplinary teams, she helped bring more than four health and wellness products to market. She also spearheaded efforts to integrate Samsung digital health solutions designed for older adults into electronic health record workflows through the Xealth platform.

As Assistant Faculty at the University of California, San Francisco School of Nursing, Christina teaches the AI-Informed Clinical Leader curriculum. She prepares healthcare leaders to evaluate and deploy AI through the lenses of clinical value, safety, governance, risk management, organizational readiness, implementation, and ongoing performance monitoring. She has also taught advanced patient safety and quality improvement through IHI and the American College of Surgeons' Quality and Safety programs.

Christina's research examines older adults and caregivers, surgical outcomes, conversational AI, digital health user experience, clinical quality measurement, and the organizational factors that influence whether new technologies are successfully adopted and sustained in clinical practice. As a senior advisor to tauSpan Technologies and a previous consultant to various healthcare AI startups and established industry organizations, she has guided work in AI strategy, digital health, clinical AI validation, quality measurement, and patient outcomes.

Christina holds a PhD and Master of Healthcare Administration from UCSF and completed postdoctoral research training in Clinical Informatics at Stanford School of Medicine. She has also completed clinical research fellowships through the NIH, the Veterans Health Administration, and UCSF Health Policy, and a three-year research fellowship in geriatrics at UCSF and UT Houston. Her additional training includes product management at UC San Diego, quality and performance improvement through IHI, human-centered design through IDEO, Strategies to AI Implementation through Harvard, and Lean Six Sigma Master Black Belt certification through the Juran Institute. She is currently advancing her applied AI skillset through MIT coursework.

Christina is strongly committed to bridging the gap between clinical realities and technological capabilities. She partners with health system leaders, clinicians, engineers, researchers, academic medical centers, professional organizations, and patient communities to translate complex healthcare challenges into scalable, human-centered solutions. Her goal is to reduce administrative burden, strengthen safety and quality, improve patient and workforce outcomes, and help healthcare organizations respond to an aging population, increasing care complexity, and persistent workforce shortages.
